This week, Bold Insight’s Senior Researcher Leigh Clark will speak at Unparsed, the world’s first conference dedicated to conversation design. In his talk, Do You Trust Your Chatbot?, he will explore the types of trust that emerge in chatbot interactions and how to leverage design to increase the trust with users of this technology.
“Trust is a complex topic; the question “do I trust my chatbot?” is not one that can be answered with a simple yes or no,” said Clark. “There are three overlapping parts to trust: dispositional, situational, and learned. Presenting trust in this nuanced way means we can widen our scope of understanding how, when, and why people trust chatbots.”
Clark will discuss critical factors that affect user trust such as incorporating research into the design process of chatbots to ensure that the product is reliable, consistent, and transparent. Using this multidimensional approach, designers can not only develop a better understanding of user trust but also leverage design to make chatbots more trustworthy.
Clark will present on Tuesday, July 25 at 10:45am in London, UK. Visit the event website to register and learn more.
