Bold Insight to connect with medical device manufacturing community at Pre-Filled Syringes East Coast virtual conference

October 12, 2020

Attended by drug and drug-delivery device developers, medical device engineers, and smart device and packaging developers, SMI’s 7th Pre-Filled Syringes East Coast conference will be held virtually October 26-27, 2020. A leader in the medical device human factors industry, Bold Insight will host a virtual booth as well as multiple opportunities for networking throughout the conference.

The two-day event features presentations that cover a wide range of topics including lessons learned from wearable medical device development, the evolving regulatory landscape of combination and connected products, and design considerations of prefilled syringes and injection devices, among other relevant discussions.

“A significant portion of the user experience (UX) and human factors (HF) research we plan, manage, and execute is focused on injection devices, including pre-filled syringes,” said Korey Johnson, Managing Director of Bold Insight. “There are a number of recurring methodological themes in this space, such as training and familiarization, drug and dose differentiation, and assessment of observable behavior versus knowledge gleaned from instructional material. We have a lot of experience determining which HF methods best simulate realistic use and have robust internal training programs that make us uniquely qualified to do so. We also have a mature instructional design practice in recognition that when designed with the end user in mind, instructional materials can mitigate use-related risk and promote safe and effective use. We partner with drug delivery device and pharmaceutical manufacturers to support them in promoting that safe and effective use throughout the design and validation process.”
